What is the right age to start preschool?
Children typically start preschool between 18 months to 30 months, depending on their readiness and comfort level. At Eager Beaver, we offer age-appropriate programs that gently ease children into a structured, nurturing environment. Additionally, we also offer a Bond-N-Bloom program (our Parent-Toddler program) that ensures a gradual, secure, and emotionally supportive transition into preschool, with parents actively participating in their child’s early learning journey.
How will you help my child settle in if they cry or struggle to adjust?
Settling in is a gradual and sensitive process. Our teachers build trust through gentle reassurance, creative distractions, consistent routines, and lots of warmth. Parents are also supported with a transition plan to help ease separation anxiety—every child is given the time and comfort they need.
What is your approach to learning — and how do you balance academics with play and social development?
We follow the P.L.A.E philosophy, where learning is a combination of aspirational skills such as confidence, curiosity and independence and the mind is enriched by real-world experiences. Our curriculum is contextual—children first understand their immediate world before we gently expand it outward. Through stories, play, and meaningful experiences, we nurture curious thinkers, compassionate friends, and joyful learners — instead of just rushing through “academic” checklists.
Who cares for my child, and what qualifications or training do they have?
Each classroom has a 1:5 adult-child ratio, ensuring your child always has a trusted adult to turn to. Our teachers are trained educators (ECCEd and other qualifications in early education and care) with deep experience, supported by loving caregivers with a genuine passion to nurture children. More than their qualifications, it’s their attentive responses, warmth, and consistency that makes children feel at home.
How will I know what my child did during the day? Do you offer updates or daily reports?
Yes, we share daily updates through our parent app— meals, naps, moods, and activities. We also provide photos of activities being conducted during the day. If anything important or urgent arises, we inform you immediately. If you wish to communicate with us, we’re always just a call/ text away. While we may not respond immediately as our first priority is caring for the children, we are pretty prompt. Communication at Eager Beaver is clear, transparent, and respectful—because trust goes both ways, and you deserve to feel connected, always.
